LiteratureDiversified is a Youth-Led, Youth founded Non-Profit founded in 2023 with a purpose of advocating for racial equity through diversifying school curricula and by working to solve America's racial disparities centering around education. Since its founding, LiteratureDiversified has developed original curricula and DEI resources that have been implemented in 26 partner classrooms across the world, impacting over 540 students.
"LiteratureDiversified has transformed the engagement in my classroom amongst minority students. Many of my Hispanic, African-American, and Asian students now relate to our course materials in ways they did not before. Students who once showed little interest in course readings now stay after class to grapple with complex ideas and thoughts that stem from the perspectives of people who they identify with."
- Anna Y. English Teacher, Partner Educator with LiteratureDiversified
"As a first generation American whose parents were immigrants, I empathize with my students who feel misrepresented by the materials they read in class. LiteratureDiversified's resources have helped me develop a more inclusive classroom for my students, specifically through their webinars, diverse novel lists, and curated lesson plans."
- Martin O. AP Government and Macroeconomics Teacher, Partner Educator with LiteratureDiversified
"LiteratureDiversified has developed a platform for minority students to feel like they have a voice. Through publishing my essay in Stories of Our Youth, I feel empowered to continue sharing my voice, knowing others around me face the same struggles as I do."
- Gavrielle K. High School Student
LiteratureDiversified compiles diverse resources and literature from marginalized perspectives to be implemented across History, Social Science, and English curriculums.
If you are an educator, parent, or student, these resources can be accessed and implemented across curriculums to diversify the narratives taught in education.
LIteratureDiversified publishes youth-written essays that display how the racial and socioeconomic disparities around them have impacted their education. Students can also submit essays showcasing their culture and ethnicity, and how their experiences have impacted themselves and their community. We accept submissions from all students.
LiteratureDiversified hosts virtual meetings and webinars with our teams to discuss important public policies impacting education, minorities, and underserved communities.
