The 1960s, a time which is most referred to as the "Era of Social Change," was a period marked by shifts in societal norms, values, and activism. The era was this name due to its struggles in civil rights, the anti-war protests for Vietnam, and more. The civil rights movement formed to get rid of and dismantle racial segregation and discrimination, while anti-war protests disagreed with the Vietnam War and questioned the American government's policies. Along with that, the 1960’s also included other movements such as feminism, environmental activism, and an increased demand for LGBTQ+ rights. All the movements were fighting against the popular point of view and together, they ended up reshaping the political and social structure of America.
